Sara implemented a pilot project at UCSC’s Baskin School of Engineering called “VC1to1″ — essentially a project to create one-to-one meetings between venture capitalists and UCSC professors and graduate students. This is a novel project where we are trying to create a culture of VC funded entrepreneurship. There are no rules or guidebook on how to make this happen. Sara was creative, diligent and persuasive. She had to sell both VCs and academics and encourage them to find common ground. Sara used her excellent project management skills as well as her knowledge about both communities to arrange many meetings in a short amount of time. She contributed superbly at every level in this project: from its inception, technical match making, detail planning, execution, and completion.
